Dan Hodges


Dan Hodges is a lifetime resident of Searcy with an accomplished career as a public servant, business owner and entrepreneur. Dan served as an alderman on the City Council for nearly 12 years representing Searcy’s wards 2 and 3.

      During his time on the City Council, Hodges helped to move Searcy forward during one of the most progressive times in the city’s history.  He worked to keep taxes low for the citizens of Searcy while cooperating with past mayors and his fellow councilmen to bring about improvements to the city which included the construction of the Beebe-Capps Expressway, expansion of Berryhill Park, the construction of the Searcy bike trail and the Central Fire Station.

          Public safety has been a top priority for Dan leading him to support improvements to both the Police and Fire Departments such as the purchase of the current Police Complex and the construction of Searcy Fire Station #3.  In addition he led efforts to pass citywide economic and legislative measures to improve the quality of life for residents and businesses.

          Hodges served on the Governor’s Outdoor Recreation Grants Committee which assists cities and communities to build and upgrade their public parks. While serving on the committee Hodges was instrumental in obtaining grants for the construction of the pavilion and installing playground equipment at Spring Park in downtown Searcy.  During his tenure on this committee he was also instrumental in obtaining grants which led to improvements to the Searcy Sports Complex which added new lighting, and the paving at the soccer and baseball fields.

          Hodges has served on numerous committees for the city including the Budget and Finance Committee and the Parks and Recreation Committee.  He has also served as the chairman for the White County Republican Party.

          His business career began while working for the Person Furniture Company where he labored for 20 years in retail sales. During that time he obtained a Real Estate Broker’s License. Later he moved into the corporate world where he was employed by Wehco Media for 16 years. 

          While working in the private sector, he attended numerous City Council meetings where he recognized a need and an opportunity for public service. He was elected to the City Council in 1992 and served 6 terms as an alderman.

          Dan grew up in Searcy living with his mother, brother and two sisters. After the untimely death of his father at the age of 33, he learned from personal experience that it Truly does take a village to raise a child. To this day he remains grateful to his family and friends for instilling in him a strong belief in family, faith and community service.

          He attended SearcyHigh School graduating in 1975. Hodges serves currently as the President and CEO of two companies he started five years ago- Vue Inc., a wireless ISP serving customers throughout central Arkansas and TitleVue Inc., a software development company which supplies web based applications for the Oil and Gas industries, counties, banks and title companies.

          He spends his free time helping his wife spoil their grandkids Kaitlyn, Alex, Miles and Emerson and riding his Harley.

          He resides at 1811 Stonecrest in Searcy with his wife, Gail. Both are active members of Park Avenue Baptist Church in Searcy.  Gail has served as a counselor in the church’s AWANA program for several years. Dan has been instrumental in establishing, maintaining and continuing the church’s media ministries.
